LoL Outbreak Championship 2016

Welcome to the Outbreak Championship - a League of Legends 5v5 tournament!

Myself & Gunstar have decided to host this due to many of you enjoying and playing LoL gathers recently, the fact that the world championship is happening over this next month and to start providing OB with events on a platform outside of CS.

The purpose of this thread is to serve as a Q&A section if you have any queries and also for us to fill you in on any important updates. As this is a tournament, the stance on not turning up for this if you sign up is rigid and will result in severe punishments if you fail to show - so please make sure you are available before signing up. Captains and teams will be announced during the week upcoming to the tournament which takes places on the 8th/9th October weekend.

We will also be searching for anyone willing to stream/cast over the weekend if anyone has any interest (even if you aren't a LoL guru, you got 2 weeks to learn ).

As I say this thread is mainly an information outlet and Q&A/tournament discussion thread - if you have any queries ask here or contact UnSeen or Gunstar.

Please only sign up if you are committed and can definitely make it on the 8th/9th October weekend. If you fail to show up, we will be giving out severe punishments e.g. loss of member and bans. Deadline is 27/09/16 midnight 00:00am UK time.

*Match is currently going to be streamed.

Times could be earlier/later depending on length of matches. Also note Brad is 'casting' every game due to him streaming, but in games where there's 3 streamers he might sit back more to let the other 2 cast.

Team 2/3 still need to give custom names if they want them and if any teams want to change their names then just let us know. Only a few days left but hopefully this should be a good tourney.

So it says in rules u have be level 20 tf noobs.

@Skill You register on the website, either just through the site itself or by signing in with fb/google/twitter/etc. Then you go onto the page and press join and fill in the things we ask for (name, preferences etc).

@DannyS It is a level 20 minimum requirement, but Pepe's somehow got to level 26 so you could probably reach level 20 by then if you get a chance to play. Obviously being a tournament there won't be any consideration for lower levels though so you sign up at your own risk

Partly because we want to maintain a slightly higher standard for a somewhat competitive tournament (applies to most people, people such as yourself and Thunder would be exceptions to this point), and partly because level 20 is the mark at which you really have enough runes/masteries to be relevant (second quint available). Although we acknowledge preferences, players could end up in any role during this tournament and 'too low level' wouldn't be an allowed excuse for someone who might have to jungle.

If league didn't have the staggered champion/rune/mastery availability it wouldn't be such an issue as we'd just be selective, but due to it we have to set a benchmark. You could easily reach level 20 in my opinion over a couple of weeks and even if not we can consider exceptions depending on number of players etc if it comes to it.

Hence why exceptions could be made Danny, but in your case it's less about skill and more about what the levels unlock.

@Oldmike The format will be dependent on numbers, but will probably consist of a group stage followed by a single elim bracket.

When you sign up and pick your main roles. How will people's skill level play out. If you are sorting teams on skill level how will the roles that you picked for lanes be sorted?

Should be lvl 30 only tbh but I understand that there arent many keen league players in ob so it's fine

can we swap roles within a team? lets say our top laner doesn't like a particular match up so he goes adc and our assigned adc goes top. is that possible?

We aren't sorting teams, we are going to assign sensible captains and let them pick teams.

Don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to do that, there are no official rule against that in pro scene and it's just part of strategy so it should be fine.
